Interface Structure Design (ISD)

ISD Description

The Interface Structure design is an interface which shows how each page are linked together and show the navigation and the functionality of the customers. This design is similar to Data Flow Diagram (DFD) but the difference is that the ISD does not contain any rules.

In each boxes there are 3 sections, which are number of level, name and the interface number.

The number of level indicates that level of the page. The lower the number, the higher the box will be in the hierarchy e.g. for the homepage the number is 0, which means that it is the first box in hierarchy.

The name is the unique name for the page so that the customer will know what page they are going.

The interface level shows wither the interface is linked to the previous box or is an individual box. If the interface is linked to the previous box, than the number will be the same as the previous box. E.g. if the number of the History page is 1.1.4 and the information page is 1.1.4 this mean that when the customer goes to the history page, it will show the information from the information box.
